I’m making up the pattern/following my basic sock recipe:

  • Cast on 64 stitches with German Twist cast on
  • Knit 18 rows of 1x1 rib, beginning with k1
  • begin garter rib. Row 1: k3, p1. Row 2: knit all stitches

11-26-2018

Knit 66 rows of pattern stitch after cuff, ending after a row with purls. Then begin heel.

On round 4 of the gusset decreases, on the instep, M1 to make up for the asymmetrical stitch pattern (& the missing purl)

Will knit 37 rows plain for the length of the foot before beginning toe decreases. (carrying on the garter rib on the top of the foot only)

Next time I do garter rib socks, I would do maybe k4, p1, but begin the round with k2,p1,k2 so that the sock pattern is centered and less of a headache when you get to the gusset. But in the meanwhile, this works!

Finally done! Since I worked on these when I had peak morning sickness, I had to set the yarn aside for a long time until I was truly feeling better. But now they’re finished and I’m pleased!
