Notes

This scarf makes me so happy - it looks like all the colors of a sunrise.

After I made Mom’s “salmon, please“ hat, she was so happy with it that she started looking for a matching scarf. Well, that hat was knit in Campari Piccolo, which is the semi-solid that matches Campari Orange. And I had a perfectly matching skein - it has more variation but that works out just fine in this pattern.

I really tried to convince her that she should go for the regular width (three pattern repeats), but she wanted a skinny scarf, so I only cast on 48 stitches (instead of 69), and knit the scarf only two pattern repeats wide. I had enough for 22 full pattern repeats, plus the last few rows (as stated in the pattern).

I used every last bit of the Campari Orange, and on the second to last row I ran out of yarn. I used a teeny bit of Campari Piccolo that I had left from the hat to finish the bind off. It blends in perfectly.

Btw, photo #4 shows the front and back side of the scarf next to each other - on the right is the front side, on the left the back. I think the scarf is pretty much reversible.
