Notes

Calla’s Mom loved all the knitted items I made for nephew #2, so I offered to knit something for Calla for her birthday. She turned 3, but I still decided to knit size 4T/5T. There really isn’t much of a difference between 2T/3T and the bigger size - the armhole is a bit bigger and the cardigan is a bit longer.

This was a breeze to knit. So fast and easy, and the yarn is just lovely. Oh, and I thought I’d be so smart and wash the yarn before knitting it up, to make sure I wasn’t going to have any shrinkage etc issues. So, since the yarn is machine washable, I stuck it in one of those little fabric bags, and washed it for a bit with Eucalan in the machine. Yeah, I know. Super stupid. Guess who got to untangle and wind up all the yarn.

Calla’s mom requested grey, so I originally planned to stick this little octopus on the cardigan to jazz it up, since she has a few stuffed octopi (is that the correct plural?). But I had these pretty little pink buttons, that form the perfect contrast with the grey.

It fits really well, and I highly suggest making large enough armholes when knitting kids clothing, due to the layering of clothes. Yeah, tight sleeves etc -> kid is unlikely to wear…
