I was going to knit a Simurgh for her as a 50th birthday gift, but she saw my Lintilla and claimed it for herself. Which means that I’ll be knitting up something else for Frau Schmidt.

Easy peasy project. Lots of Squishy garter stitch, and the short rows add a bit of fun to keep the pattern from being boring. If you lose track of where you are in the pattern, it’s easy to count the rows compared to the short rows to figure out where in the pattern repeat you are.

Make sure to do the wrap and turn the way it’s described in the pattern notes to avoid any unsightly holes. I used to do w&t by slipping the next stitch purlwise, bring yarn to the front, slip stitch back, turn and work. But this way of working the w&t leaves that afore mentioned hole…

Oh, and I’d recommend weighing your skein so you can plan out how many ruffles to knit (more info in the pattern)
