I cast on 187 stitches, aiming for a 60’’ width. I swatched with different needle sizes, and I likee the look best with 10mm needles.

To avoid measuring out enough yarn for the cast on, I used the long-tail cast on with a knot - Techknitter has a great post on that.

The final blanket ended up being 61 x 67’’ - and this was with a very very light steam blocking. If I’d blocked this more aggressively then this would have been even bigger. As it is it’s big enough for my cousin who is 6 ft something.

This was my wedding gift to my cousin and his wife. It’s being used frequently which makes me very very happy.
