Next time, I would add a round of stockinette between the ribbing and the first Latvian braid to give myself a tidy edge to pick up when attaching the lining.

Followed the pattern as written, except the ribbing: I substituted red for the gray because I was afraid my gray yarn wouldn’t go far enough! I think these fears were justified…I used half a skein of the blue but 3/4 of the gray.

I followed the designer’s recommendation to always bring up the leading color from underneath the background color, and this made all the difference in the world!
