Notes

1/18: Frogged. This yarn is too luscious… I want to use it for something else.

1/17: Still have not blocked it. I may frog later on. Very pretty, but just not great for wearability. If I like shawls more, then maybe, but as it stands, I would prefer something more scarf like.

1/14: Not going to lie, I’m not a fan of how this sits on the body… I made it slightly larger than the pattern instructed, and while I love the diamond shaped construction, it’s just kind of short and I can’t really wear it like the scarves in the design photos. It either looks like a big bib, or a big, awkward sized shawl. I am a little discouraged, and I’m not sure if I will block it or just frog it… :(

1/13: Cast off this evening. Still needs blocked but it looks really nice. Excited to have it finished. I only used one skein of the tosh light, instead of making a super sized one as originally intended.

1/6: I am seriously considering modifying this pattern just a tad. I don’t love the purled section at the edge of the shawl/scarf and it really does not get very long very quickly. So, I was thinking of adding a half of one of the triangular stockinette sections… It would add another increase area, and I think a stockinette section on the sides of the shawl would look nicer, rather than the purled section… I don’t know… I have used over half of my ball of Madelintosh. I am trying to decide if I want to use both balls of it for this one project and make a really big shawl, or make it more scarfy sized and use the other ball for something else.

1/1/13: Officially my first knitting project of 2013!! Smooth sailing so far. I love how modern and simple this is. The changes in texture from stockinette to garter really show off this yarns personality.

I want to make this thing big… so I may not have the leftovers I was hoping to use for some matching fingerless mitts.

I also might have to purchase some new size 6 circs… For some reason I thought 24” would be long enough and I’m worried they may end up too short for the size of the project.

12/31: Yarn came in, as did my yarn ball winder! Hurrah! Cast it on and things are going quickly already. I plan on spending tomorrow curled up working on this.

12/28: I love the last scarf I did from Stephen West (Clockwork), and I have found myself with some extra funds and time to knit for myself, so I am going to attempt Pogona.

Chose madelintosh merino light in the Rain Water colorway. Second choice was Lichen… I might have to get some of that colorway later on because it intrigues me.

I have also decided that since I got two skeins (I had read that some were having troubles with not having enough yarn, so I wanted to make doubly sure I would be able to make it as large as I wish) that I’m going to try making some matching mitts to go along with the finished scarf.
