Set up (brackets =) brioche section on the first two rows
Kfb at each end of row
RS = two rows, WS = two rows (one MC, one CC)
Always knit non-brioche section (so it will be not-really garter stitch on the sides)

These colors are not working together as well as I had hoped. In the skein the purple bits in the pink were obvious, as were the pink bits in the purple. But the pink is reading more red-ish and the purple as more gray so I’m not loving it. Also, the edges are a bit tight. Not sure how to loosen it up - I’ve tried keeping those stitches loose but it’s not helping enough. Contemplating frogging.

Okay, frogged and picked a different CC and make that CC the MC. Take two (or four at this point). Also going to change the increases to see if I can get the edges better. And increase the needle size to get fluffier brioche.

Increase is now: k2, yo, knit in pattern across to last 2 sts, yo, k2

All finished! Not yet blocked but I used it last night and it’s delightful. And I should have enough yarn left to make a matching hat!
