I wasn’t 100% sure I understood the chart with this one but a little time with Google translate and doing a test run of the first 6 rounds and I’m good to go!

On to the thread version now. I dread the thought of weaving in ends.

Now that I’ve stopped screwing up the pattern and having to frog back rows and rows (apparently my test rounds were messed up too, I just didn’t go far enough to figure it out), I’m much happier with how this is going. Though I’m not 100% sure that the colors are the best…

Change of plans. I was going to do an abbreviated version of this doily but now, since the doily is going really well and I think it will give better continuity to the colors I’m using, I’m going to do the full doily. Instead of going red -> yellow, I’m going to go red -> yellow -> red. It makes the project twice as many rows but I think it will be pretty awesome.

I set this aside for last week since I wasn’t feeling too crafty (or too anything-that-is-positive) but now I’m feeling better and I’m back to this. I’m through the first rotation of colors so next up is going back to the darker yellows then the reds. And them weaving in the ends. That’s going to be fun…. Regardless of impending end-weaving, I’m really enjoying this doily.

Haven’t thought about it until now but with the change in plans to do the full doily instead of an abbreviated version, this puppy is going to be about 24” across. HUGE! Kind of excited and nervous all at once!

Ack! How have I let it get so late? I’ve got to get this finished soon soon. On the plus side, it is really coming together now that the colors have migrated back to red. And it looks a little rough but I stretched it out and pinned it and it looked so much nicer. I think blocking this will really make it shine. So close to the end!

24 Jun
Finished! Now, must weave in all the ends. gulp

Ha! My blocking board is too small for this monster of a doily! It’s HUGE! Hahahaha!
