Notes

This yarn is so pretty and it feels so soft and squishy. But I’ve heard not so nice things about how it wears (fuzzes easily and not so sturdy) so hopefully this is a good pattern match. Cuddle socks for a cuddle yarn?

I am doing this one sock at a time in hopes that I can match the stripe pattern (and I’m too lazy to make two separate balls of yarn at the moment). Also, I’m doing this as kind of as an experiment since I always do paired items two at a time since my first mismatched-gauged mittens.

So, apparently I am doing the puckers backwards. I just assumed the stitch was taken from the back and, by the time I figured out it was from the front, I just decided to go with it.

Yesterday I did the cuff and about half of the leg. Today I did the rest of the leg, the heel flap, the heel turn and now I’m a tad into the gusset. Tomorrow will be Fiber Fest, so I don’t imagine I’ll get much knitting done but hopefully I’ll have this sock done by this weekend and be started on the second one!

One sock down! Must cast on for the second one today! I’m really pleased with this sock so far. They are very much cuddle socks, not for-inside-shoes-socks as they are not snug but more in line with the thick, fuzzy socks I wear as slippers. For a more perfect fit, though, I think I’d do some ribbing on the sole during the gusset stitches if I ever knit this pattern again. But I think I’m going to enjoy these. Hopefully they won’t expand after blocking!

Ready to turn the heel! I reckon I’ll do that tomorrow so I don’t have to interrupt the process. This sock is going a tad slower than the other one, but I think that’s cause I’ve been so tired lately. Still, it’s going well and the stripes are matching up so whee!

Both socks are done! Blocking is all that remains. I’m so happy that the gauge matches for both of them! They are so fuzzy and soft and slouchy and comfy! So cute!

General thoughts:
This pattern is great - very easy and everything is spelled out with stitch counts, etc, so it’s no problem to follow. I quite like it and can easily see it being a great first sock project.

This yarn seems a bit drape-y so I could see doing the heel and foot with the US2.5, not just the cuff, to add a little structure to the fit if I used this yarn with this pattern again.

While I’ve read that this yarn wears quickly, I do adore how soft and lovely it is.
