I am making this using my yarn sample from Three Bears Yarn. I thought this pattern would be perfect for the amount of yarn I have and also I am trying to vary what I make with each sample. As with all yarn samples once I’ve finished making something with them a blog review will follow within a few days.
I am following this pattern and I’m aiming for newborn size. I am already aware of the foot length I need, the pattern for 0-6 months states 3 1/2 inches using a 3.25mm hook. I’m hoping for slightly smaller than this, hopefully around 3 inches in foot length so I’ll be following this pattern using a 3mm hook.

Finished up today on the first shoe, heel section row 2. I’m currently on row 2 where I need to repeat it 6 more times, I’ve repeated it once so far.
Photos taken at this stage, will add more as I get further on.

Today I finished off the first shoe :) and I made some adjustments to the laces.
For the laces I left quite a bit of yarn and then slip stitched it to the first sc stitch the instructions mention. I then chained 40 and slip stitched back along the chain. I then followed the instructions and did 5 sc along the heel edge of the shoe. I then chained 40, slip stitched along the chain which takes me back to the heel and I slip stitched to the first sc. I then cut my yarn and sewed in any ends. I did this to get thicker laces as I thought it looked better than just a chain of 40.
I have now just started the second shoe and I’m on round 2.

Will add more photos and how much yarn I used tomorrow.

New photos added :) hope you like them.
I will update the yarn amounts later, this used a lot less than I expected. Blog post review coming soon!
My yarn sample was 31g and I used 12g of it making these ballet shoes. 31g is 104m (info given by Three Bears Yarn), from my calculations my ballet shoes used approximately 40 metres of yarn.
I also just measured the length of these ballet shoes, they are between 9 - 9 1/2cm.
