Notes

I wanted to try this pattern for a long time, so I decided to use it for this yarn, because the laceyness of the pattern allows the yarn to still be soft and squishy as a scarf. A denser pattern would have made the yarn not feel as soft in the finished scarf.

The original pattern called for two strands of skinny yarn held together, so I increased the needle size to 11 in using this aran weight yarn.

I did 6 repeats of the scarf body for one end, then the scarf end. For the other end, I did 7 repeats of the scarf body and then the scarf end, and had maybe a yard of yarn to spare.

The pattern is not very easy to memorize, and I didn’t do enough repeats of the pattern to commit it to memory. But I don’t think I would have memorized it even if I’d done the original 30 repeats of the scarf body chart. Regardless, it’s a nice pattern.

I love this yarn. It’s so incredibly soft, it was wonderful to knit with it. My only beef is that it had little puffs that flew up to tickle my nose as I was knitting.
