Hjortur is a worsted weight two-ply yarn from Jorstad Creek. I wanted a two-skein sample shawl to show that Hjortur could be used for lace - it’s from Icelandic lambswool so it is softer it appears. A customer (Thank you, Knitwise-Cracker!) in Jorstad Creek’s booth at the 2013 Madrona Winter Conference mentioned the Lonely Tree pattern and it was a perfect match with the yarn.

I knit the center ridge of the shawl in garter stitch so that it would match the garter stitch edging. Otherwise I followed the pattern. I think Sylvia Bo Bilvia has some great designs and I hope to knit another one of her patterns soon.
