Saving Sleeve Stitches - cast on 6 sts onto right needle instead of 4 as called for pattern size.

Neck Ribbing - 7 U.S. (4.5 mm)
Body and Sleeve Ribbing - 8 U.S. (5 mm)

MC - Country Blue
CC - Dark Country Blue

Followed fructonish’s suggestion of knitting one row with MC after the ribbing to avoid the color bumps. Worked like a charm! I also knit one row in MC before the 2x2 ribbing at the bottom to avoid the CC showing in the first row of purl bumps.

Screwed up and forgot that the pattern won’t tell you where to change colors. Knit 20 rows in CC before I realized it, so we’re doing 20 rows for each color!

Brilliant thought - need to stop using the original light blue skein for the body because I ended splitting my sleeves on the MC and I don’t want there to be a color shift line in my sleeves.

Binding off in pattern will make the bottom of the work too tight. I should have done more research. Don’t don’t don’t do it!

I used Jenny’s (Jeny’s?) surprisingly stretch bind off on the sleeves; I think if I had used that on the hem of the sweater’s body, the bind off would not have been as/too tight.

Took a few nights off from knitting.

14 stitches per U.S. 8 DPN for sleeve.

Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off was the way to go with the sleeves… should have done that on the bottom of the body.

Finished the knitting June 8, 2015. Just need to weave in ends.

Wove in the ends June 12, 2015, after washing and blocking. It looks fantastic!!!

I probably had enough stitches to go down to a U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) for the sleeve ribbing; I might do that if I knit this again.

I would knit this again. It was a fast, easy knit.

About the title of the project: I started knitting it when my partner of nearly eight years said I should look for my own apartment and a few weeks later, we ended our engagement.
