The bottom border instructions say to pick up 224 stitches; I have adjusted it to 228 so that the pattern ends with a purl set for consistency. This also means that placing fringe every 12 stitches works out evenly.

I should mention this does not fit nicely on my frame and it took a lot of adjusting to get nice photos. It hangs beautifully on the hanger, and will do well with someone with a larger upper body (shoulders and chest). Fortunately this is not for me! :D
