Did the magic circle thing, 2 circular needle style, when I was focused only on these, they knit up fairly fast. I mixed things up a little by adding a second thumbhole, to make the amount covering my hands change as needed. The upper thumbhole is ideal for typing or knitting. While the lower buttonhole is better for driving or reading and still staying toasty.
