I knit one extra repeat and worked the last 4 rows of the ruffle in garter stitch to try to prevent curling.

To block I ran wires along the top edge and just patted the rest of the shawl into a shape I like.

One technique I learned during this project was to purl using the Portuguese method, tensioning the yarn around a pin. Carlotta taught me and I am eternally grateful, first because learning a new technique gave me something to focus on besides how boring those last few rows are, and I purl SO MUCH FASTER that way. This is the last of the projects for my friend K’s wedding. The first was a shawl for K. The second is the couple’s wedding gift, a Girasole blanket.

Finally, number three, this shawl to toss over my matron-of-honor dress.

After these three projects, I think I’m only going to knit garter stitch on BIG needles for a while.
