Notes

The book I’m using is titles “Winter Knits Made Easy” 2014.

Since I know I’ll lose my little piece of paper with the colors I chose:
Pink 0137
Brown 1445
Blue 0848
Green 6004
Red-ish 560
Red 0174
Brownish 1444
Purple-Lav. 0452
Blue 0133
Purple 1606
Tan 1415
Blue 598
Yellow 1014
Purple-Mulberry 0458

Eventually these will all be entered, but for now…

The pattern is really simple and is of course squares! Lots of squares. I need a simple project that doesn’t require a lot of counting or needing to pay attention so I can knit at work (where I watch a 2 year old.)

The book is awesome and everyone should check it out.

One skein done! Yay!!!!

It made 11 squares. Each one is 10g (made knowing whether or not to use the little ball leftover an easy decision…no, btw. It’s only 5g.)

My dude, K, decided to find out how many squares total I needed. I wasn’t planning on knowing because I thought it might scare me. I’d rather go by what I have done. The number is somewhere above 500. I’m doing this one skein at a time.

I have made a daily goal of 1 square per day. I’m a slow knitter so thus far it takes me about 1.5 hours to do this. I am getting faster though and my last two only took 1 hour each I think. So, hopefully by next winter it’ll be done!

I need to decide whether or not to weave in the dangling bits of yarn or tie them off and cut them. I don’t want to leave that all to the end though. So, after my next trip to the yarn shop I’ll have my answer!

Super behind! Stress fracture in my pinky. I’ve continued knitting right handed (the English throwing style) but it is sllloooow going. But some progress is better than no progress!

I’ve been rethinking this blanket because of its size and weight. I might switch to doing some larger pieces in the round and steeking it. This would be in stockinette stitch (decreasing the insulation property, but also decreasing the overall weight of the blanket-I think). Since we layer our blankets anyway I’m sure it’ll be fine heat wise.
