October 16 -
Though the ankle ribbing would most likely keep the bootees in place, I thought that an additional bit of insurance with a knitted tie would be a good idea, so added a two-stitch I-cord threaded through the ribbing.

My attempts at decorative clover-ish embroidery with the lime green yarn didn’t look well, so I thought pom-poms… But regular pompoms are made from short bits of yarn, which I feared might end up in the mouth of La Infanta. So, the ankle-ties have little lime green knitted spheres stitched to the ends, which will also serve to keep the ankle-ties from being removed and lost.

October 14 - These look to be turning out quite well. One done, one on the needles… I’d like to add some kind of bright green embellishment to echo the clover-leaf on the matching hat.

The pattern is fairly easy to follow, once I figured out that “end on the wrong side” meant “complete the wrong side row”. The other thing is that the very end, where you are instructed to cast off is a little confusing as well, if followed exactly, you will have live stitched left on one side. What I did was to knit across till at one edge, then cast off all the stitches, and sew up the bootee
