Well, as I left my Voodoo Wristwarmers in OlyWa, I needed to start on some longer wristlet/mitts and decided to use two different yarns from my stash, a medium grey and a marled blue/blackish both worsted weight. Cast on 44 stitches in K2P2 rib and went round n round till the first one seemed long enough… Alternating every two rows to form horizontal stripes
knit in a 5 stitch place holding string for the thumb, and then continued on to the base of my little finger. put most of the ribbing on a string, saved out ten stitches, cast on four, then decreased the four to two, for a total of twelve and knitted up the little finger in stockinette until it was long enough c/o in purl
Went back and decided to knit up the thumb, as trying on the wristlet without a thumb hole is difficult. Am knitting that one over 15 st, same stockinette stripe
added in the fingers one at a time, extending the body ribbing as needed to cover my palm, which explains the somewhat wonky looking but perfectly fitting glove portion of this project.
