2/27/12 Okay so I called this done. I’m wearing it right now. It looks great unbuttoned because it drapes nicely and looks kinda stylish ;)
However, buttoned up the hip area kinda poofs out (I guess its not super obvious in the buttoned up pic, but it’s super obvious from other angles, trust me) I knitted the size small as written, but alas, my boyish figure doesn’t accommodate such a dramatic hip to waist increase. Turns out it fits my mom perfect. :)
2/22/12 My new blocking boards arrived yesterday! (eeee!) so it’s blocking right now. The single crochet definitely helped. Now the key is to have the patience until its completely dry before unpinning it from the blocking board…. :)
2/19/12 Done with the knitting, buttons sewn on. Definitely stretched a lot so I’ve used single crochet to reinforce at key points. ESPECIALLY around the neck…a garter stitch yoke isn’t the greatest idea, structurally. but the single crochet helped pull it in BIG TIME. also did it up and down around the buttons and button holes, across the bottom of the sweater, and at the sleeve “seams”. It’s given it more shape…I’m thinking about doing a little more…
1/27/12 Buttons Buttons, who’s got the buttons??
1/24/12 I tried it on last night and even without the arms and half the body it looks lovely…I almost want to cast off and turn it into a shrug…perhaps an idea for a next project…
Maybe add this stitch border to the sleeves/bottom? I’m not really in love with the garter stitch cuffs on the pattern
This Way and That pattern
1/23/12 About halfway done with the body and no big mistakes! I think… :P
Here’s to the first new project of the new year!
