So, these have been de-tagged off of the Ravelympics…I didn’t work on them at all while the Olympics were on. But, I’m working on them now and they’re lovely. Toe-up modifications (because I can…) with my favorite heel and size 00 needles. Fun!
7/16 - to frog, or not to frog? They’re dense, tight, and are going to be too small. I know I spent about a month on them, but really? I think I should start over - on metal DPNs.
9/18/10 - Frogged. Restarted. Top-down, size 0 needles. Maybe they’ll be “next spring” socks.
12/3 - Making progress, but they’re slow going. All my knitting sort of wants to make me scream these days, but these are so darn pretty.
2/21 - Chugging along. I’ve made Jonathan a sweater and started a Sylvi Coat of my own in the meantime, so these don’t get worked on much, but I’m at the heel of sock 1, and ready for the foot! They’re just beautiful.
5/3/11 - Sock one is done, and sock 2 well underway! Got to keep knitting!
7/10/11 - So, after ripping out sock 1, I re-skeined the yarn and washed it to get the kinks out. Turns out that this process changed the yarn significantly. I worked on sock 2 until the calf decreases, and noticed that, having done the same number of pattern repeats as sock 1, I was about an inch short! O noes! After waffling for about 2 weeks, I ripped sock 2 back, washed that yarn, and started over. Sock 2 was restarted on June 12-13, so this second sock, in its final incarnation, took less than a month to complete, and could have gone faster had I been more concentrated on it. And now, they’re done, and still in time for Sock Summit! So glad to have knocked this one off my list!
