7/24 - Done! Living without A/C means that I’ve been disinclined to work on this ever…but I finally got it in shape so I could say it was done before Sock Summit! I’m not sure whether I used 16 or 14 skeins (because I can’t recall if I bought 16 or 18…oops), but I think probably 16. To line it was 2.5 yards of 45” Amy Butler fabric in Full Moon Polka Dot (Cherry). 4 horn toggles, two horn buttons for the cuffs. Weight: ~5 lbs. I imagine it’s not coming with me to Sock Summit…but I CANNOT wait for fall to come so I can frolick around in it every day!

6/26 - Everything is sewn down, all the ends sewn in. I showed it off at a party (at my house) this week, and one of my good friends called it my “splendiferous yarny thing” - hence the subtitle. I’m THIS CLOSE to being done with the sewn-in lining, which will add a lot of charm once it’s done. I’m looking forward to weighing it…it’s heavy!

3/20 - pieces seamed and the top reattached for the hood. The end is in sight (but it’s now also too large to bring anywhere).

5/26 - Put this on hold for a while, as it got to be too big to transport, and finally got around to affixing the frogs and toggles, and knitting on the flower petals.
This is not a project for someone with handsewing aversions! These petals are probably going to take a while to get sewn down, but at least I can say (until I make patch pockets) that all the knitting is done!

Work in progress! I’ve been changing things periodically - dropping back to cross cables differently, adding in more seed stitch in some of the voids of reverse stockinette on the sides, and adding rows here and there to lengthen the back, because my row gauge is way, way off. I’m thinking of really changing things a bit more in the cable, adding another flower, but we’ll see.
