  • I used Aunt Lydia’s classic crochet cotton size 10 in the colors olive, golden rod, ecru, and pumpkin.

  • The pattern is not that difficult to figure out, especially if you look at pictures others have uploaded to their project pages. The hook size I used made this fit nicely into a 5-inch hoop (I only did rows 1-5). However, in order to add another row of SC to make the border look thicker and more pronounced, the next time I make this, I will try a smaller hook (1.50mm).

  • Be very careful as you do each petal, that you don’t twist the petal (pay close attention to the ch2 of your stem so that it’s not twisted). My very first petal is actually backwards because of this. You can’t really tell unless I were to point it out to you, and only if you actually are a crocheter would you then even notice.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this pattern. It was not difficult at all.
