To make the support for the wreath I traced a dinner plate on a large pizza box. I did this twice to get two cardboard circles. I then traced the inside of the wreath on the cardboard circle to figure out where to cut the middle out. Again I did this twice. I ended up with two cardboard “wreaths”. I then traced these wreath circles on large red felt. I did this twice. I then glued the two cardboard together. Then I glued the felt on either side of the cardboard support. I did not care for the look of the felt / cardboard so I decided to crochet around the whole support. What I did: Made a slip knot then I just did single crochets all around the cardboard wreath. Then I slip stitched to join. Then I chained one and single crocheted all the way around slip stitching with the end to make a seamless round. Then I attached the wreath to the support by using the same yarn to thread it through the wreath and support. The outside support goes through the single crochet edge. The inside support goes through the “loops of yarn” wrapped around the cardboard.

Yarn used: Crafter’s Secret Color # 17 /Red with the Dye Lot: 169093

Entered this into the 2017 Kutztown Fair for Creative Christmas and I did not win a ribbon. I was super disappointed I did not even get a Merit Ribbon.
