A shower gift for Peanut, my first niece, due in April. Chose a superwash yarn to make sister Rachel’s soon-to-be chaotic life simpler.

YARN: LOVE this yarn. Soft, squishy yarn with color depth and interest. I’m not a pastel fan so this blue fit the bill.

At bind off row, I was just A FEW INCHES short! Busted open a second skein for this. No problem. Color’s so pretty I’ll use the second skein for myself.

Mods: No way I was knitting flat and seaming as EZ’s instructions specify.

CO as in pattern. M1L for yoke increases. Slipped first stitch each side. Made three buttonholes. Placed sleeve sts on holders. CO 14 each underarm. Knit body down. Decreased 10% per pattern before starting garter band at hem.

Sleeves: Starting at middle underarm

PU and knit 7, Purl 28, PU and knit 7. (Magic Looped sleeves)

Made short sleeves for versatility.

If (when) I make it again, I’ll try knitting the sleeves down with body sts on holders then knitting all together to make the underarm SEAMLESS for less bulk. I think Jared Flood made it this way.

I think this is a one year size. I’d use a #7 next time for (I’m thinking) an 18 mo size.
