UPDATE May 19: :( I let this sit for too long, my gauge changed drastically and so now I have to start over:( will start a new project page for this one. Hopefully I’ll do better at math and measuring as well.

adjustments to fit my gauge of 4.5 stitches per inch:

UPDATE 5/17: gauge is 4 stitches to an inch…not sure where I got 4.5 from…so now years later, totally not sure which gauge i used to make my adjustments!! oh well, he tried it on and he likes the fit…so hopefully i’ll finish before father’s day 2014! i am not crazy about how big it is:(

hood: cast on 80. work increases 14 times to get to 108. do more math after reaching 6 inches.

work decrease round until there are 90 stitches.
p 14, pm, p 16, pm, p 30, pm, p16, pm, p14

work increases as in book until 126 sts are on needles.

did 10 stitches for overlap. found an excellent visual description here from the designer’s blog

June 4:
i have made several adjustments, but don’t have the paper with my notes on it at this time. about to start pocket:) this doesn’t get worked on too frequently, but hoping to finish it up for the knitgirllls 2011 stash dash!

gauge swatch on size 10.5 US measured 4 inches after washing. ugh.
when i used US size 11 i didn’t like the drape. so i’m going to start with the 10.5 and see how it goes.

swatched using 7, 8, and 9 as well.
