-definitely go by chest measurements for the fitted look and then add extra length under the age size.

• got to the cable part and just wasn’t feeling it so I decided to go without it. I adjusted cast on stitches to accommodate this(equal stitches for front and back)
• not so happy with this yarn for a sweater (would be nice for a blanket though, really soft and washable), but it was the only greenish teal I could find in the weight I needed and that was the main request from my daughter….a teal-green tunic please.
• not my favorite sweater I ever knit but the 9 year old LOVES it and that is what matters. Should have kept the cable…pretty boring without it and not as fitted as I was hoping for.
