I finished the waistband by folding the waistband on the first round after finishing K2,P2 and knitting through both the front fabric and back fabric to encase it, minus a two inch opening for the elastic to feed through, then continued knitting the rest of the skirt.
Hem is an inch of garter stitch.
Lost my modification notes, but I think the skirt measured around 16 to 18 inches long, with the top color being around 2 inches longer than the equal length lower colors.

A 10th birthday skirt for Iris’ (smallish, made a size 8) best friend. Fits perfect, so cute that I will need to make some for my own girls.
