16 May 15
Switching begins - this morning I wound the yarn and then began preparing swatches. I accidentally started off with size 9 needles which made a nice fabric (very airy). Unwound that and started over with 8’s see pic. I can see that this is not to the pattern gauge so moved on down to 7s. Swatches are drying now.
Have a strong suspicion I will have to dig my US 6s out from whichever project they are hiding in but will let these first swatches dry before trying again.
22 May 15 - I have gauge with my US 6s. Now to do a swatch for the cable (should be ok with US 5s).
27 May 15 - cast on last night: knitting a size 43 (first measurement of bust was 43 1/2 but I had a big blousey and heavy dress on, when down to my tee (which I had on underneath) I was 43 so happy with this size.
Alternating 2 skeins - looks a little messy on the left side hopefully this will block out. Fingers crossed.
3 June 15 - ripped back to row 3 and re knit - edges are much better looking now. I have 4 inches of the back complete (3 to go before I start decreasing - I might make the deadline to complete the back after all!)
09 June 15 - still working on the back - at least I’m at the decreases now and the alternating is looking a lot better. Ripping it back was the right thing to do. I love the fabric - I think it’s going to be lovely and warm.
13 June 15 - finished the back today and cast on for front piece number one.
14 June 15 - finished front piece number one and cast on front piece number two - back on KAL schedule! YAY!
November 6, 2018
Frogged and used this yarn for my dogwalker KAL piece.
I have another sweater quantity that will probably become a Verdea when I feel a little more confident.
