About the pattern
The pattern looks much better on an odd number of stitches as you won’t get a seam at the start of row. This is not mentioned in the pattern.

About the yarn
Frogging is not a good idea with this yarn, especially the Magico II degrades quite quickly into fuzz. When knitting the heel, the thread broke because it was intertwined with the other yarn too often.

Notes
I’m trying out needle sizes and will use 2.5 mm with 64 stitches.
Aug 13: Cast on 64 sts.
Aug 15: Squee! I love how this pattern looks!
Aug 18: Started over with odd number of stitches. Cast on 66 for the cuff and decreased to 65 for the leg section. The stitch is now seamlessly going around the leg.
Aug 25: Turned the first heel.
Sep 11: Started on separating the first toe.
Sep 12: Started on the rest of the toes and finished the first sock!
Nov 25: Cast on second sock (other projects had priority).
Dec 04: Turned the second heel.
Dec 08: I’m already at the toes. It took me a moment to realise I didn’t need a second right sock.
Dec 09: Finished second sock!

Big Toe:
Row 1: From beginning of round at inside of foot (at seam), knit 11 sts, cast on 4 sts using backward loop. Place 43 sts on scrap yarn, and knit the final 11 sts at end of round for big toe.
Row 2 until 16: Knit 26 sts
Row 17: * k2tog, k2 * repeat until end of round
Row 18: knit
Row 19: * k2 tog, k1 * until 2 sts left, k2tog
There are 12 sts remaining. Graft together using kitchener stitch and weave in ends.

Other toes:
Beginning of round is at outside of foot.
Row 1: Knit 1 round, picking up 5 sts at base of big toe (where you made new stitches between the toes). (48 sts total) After this first set-up row, decrease every other row:
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8: knit 1, ssk, knit until 3 sts from end of round, k2tog, knit 1.
Row 3, 5, 7, 9: Knit all.
Start decreasing every row:
Row 10 & 11: knit 1, ssk, knit until 3 sts from end of round, k2tog, knit 1.
Row 12: knit 1, ssk, knit until the picked-up stitches between the toes, ssk, k2tog, knit until 3 sts from end of round, k2tog, knit 1 (4 sts decreased)
Row 13: if even number of stitches remaining, same as row 12.
if uneven number of stitches remaining: knit 1, ssk, knit until the picked-up stitches between the toes, k2tog, knit until 3 sts from end of round, k2tog, knit 1
Row 14: same as row 12. (4 sts decreased)

It is probably best if the other toes are equally long as big toe, unless your big toe is a lot bigger than the rest.

Graft together using kitchener stitch and weave in ends.

Continued, February 2020

As I am allergic to wool and cannot wear wool socks anymore unless it’s REALLY freezing, I’m cutting off the toes and making these back into a normal pair. That way my boyfriend can wear them, as he loves to wear wool socks. Especially hand-knit ones.
My statement about felting and frogging stands, taking the toes off was HARD, yo.
This cost an additional 8 grams of light grey yarn.
