10/30/16: I had this pattern in my queue with a deadline of December 31, so it would be great to have this finished in time to wear to the New Year’s Eve party that we have already been invited to.
11/30/16: I’ve given up on the idea of finishing this by New Year’s. I screwed up royally in the first lace repeat, put the project in time out for a month and then had to tink back two long rows. I think it may be more realistic to aim to get this finished in time for Stitches West in February. Coincidentally, the start of Stitches (February 23rd) is the finishing deadline for the Two Ewes Poncho Adventure KAL.
1/3/17: I’m not sure I will be finished by Stitches West, but at least I am finally moving along on this project. After I tinked back the first time, I had to tink back most of a whole repeat. At that point, I decided it was time to use a lifeline. Since then, I haven’t had any issues, and I have completed three repeats of the lace pattern. I have added a photo.
8/14/17: I put this into hibernation in February, and took it out of hibernation two days ago. I’m hoping to get through a repeat every few days (I just got through one today). I’d love to be able to wear it to Knit Fit in November, so I can show Wendee and Dave what I did with the Big Wheel that I purchased at Knit Fit two years ago. I’m not making any promises on completion, however.
11/29/17: Not done, and not even touched for at least two months. It’s going into hibernation once again. Maybe I’ll resurrect it after the first of the year.
12/16/17: I took this out of hibernation and I’m working on it once again. Maybe it will actually get finished one day.
12/31/18: Surprise, surprise, I finished! Last summer I finally finished the first lace section (although I realized later that I had only done eight repeats instead of ten). Next up was the big increase row and the feather and fan section. I finished five feather and fan repeats and put the project down again. A week ago, I picked it back up and decided to do a big push to finish by the end of the year, and I made it with about eleven hours to spare. Because I had shortened the first lace section, I added two additional feather and fan repeats.
I have to admit, even though I had lots of struggles with the pattern (totally user error and not the fault of the pattern) I love the finished wrap and I know I will be wearing it a lot in the future.
