12/12/12: I cast this on while on my way to the East Coast for our annual Thanksgiving trip, and I finished it last week. The pattern calls for five pattern repeats, but I could tell in the middle of the fourth repeat that I would never have enough yarn for all five. (I find it very hard to believe that there were really 300 yards in that skein!) When I began knitting the border, I started weighing my yarn after each round. Based on what the scale was telling me, I eliminated three rows from the final border. I ended up with just one gram of yarn (about three yards) left, which you can see in the second photo.

I enjoyed knitting this very much, and would like to knit one for me at some point, but I’ll make sure I have plenty of yarn next time!
