34 repeats of the main chart = 68 hearts

Border: Picked up stitches for the border from right to left. Added stitches on the right side. Knit back across to begin the border on the lower right corner. This isn’t how the updated version suggests, but it’s what I did to make it understandable prior to the update. By doing so, the WS (if you consider the border pattern to have one), is on the RS of the shawl. I don’t think there is enough of a difference to make it noticeable.

Wrap and turn edge: This is turning out quite nicely. I continued knitting the chart pattern, but made sure each w&t stitch had 5 wraps before knitting it to the border. I repeated this whole sequence 3 times for each corner.

The final corner didn’t line up as I had hoped, so I fudged it a bit. Once blocked it’s hardly noticeable.

The end is in sight! I think I’ll be able to get this finished in time. Likely I’ll be blocking it there. I have about 9 inches of border left to go.

Frantically trying to get this done by next weekend. The border seems to be going relatively quickly. “must knit faster, must knit faster!”

25 repeats done. Really starting to worry about getting this done by Oct 6. Might fewer than 38 repeats.

Finally broke down and bought the pattern. Not overly impressed with it though. It’s a translation from Dutch, which is quite evident. The pattern itself isn’t difficult, but I found deciphering it a bit of a challenge.
