One minor mod right at the beginning: After ripping out my starting row three times due to difficulties properly picking up stitches from my crocheted provisional cast-on because the scrap yarn wouldn’t completely unravel, I grabbed my copy of Lucy Neatby’s Cool Knitters Finish in Style out of the bookcase and learned from her that the first row on a crocheted provisional should always be all knit or all purl … a combination stops the crocheted stitches from pulling out easily. Aha! So started over, did my first set-up row all knit intead of the knit 4, purl 1 in the instructions, did all other set-up rows as written, and all went perfectly. :-)

Pattern note: Instruction labeled “Row 45” is actually for row 41 (that’s the only way the stitch count adds up)

Oct. 6, 2015: Better late than never. FINALLY sewed the buttons onto this shawl on this date. So I can wear it tomorrow. :-)
