Notes

This project started out as one thing and ended up as this vibrant throw that I plan to give my parents for their lake house. I love the rich colors utilizing newly purchased Lion yarns and leftover Bernat stash. Mostly, I improvised as I went along; I may write a detailed pattern and submit it, but basically it consists of 15 colors and 3 sizes of granny squares. For cohesiveness, I deliberately made liberal use of one color (Red) and made sure it appeared in every motif. Furthermore, it was used as the 1st round color in all of the smallest motifs, the last round of all of the mid-sized, and appeared twice in the border. Finally, Red was used to connect the largest and mid-sized motifs. Black was liberally used in the border and was 3rd round color for all small motifs.
This was a fun project!
