So here’s my doll for The 2nd Annual Art Dolls Only Team Alice in Wonderland Blog Event. To see more amazing dolls from everybody who participated in this challenge, visit The Ado Team Blog (http://artdollsonly.blogspot.com/). You will not be disappointed.

Alice is crochet out of acrylic and cotton yarns and threads. I used fabric more in this doll than I usually do, but I really think it opened up a whole new area of details for my dolls. Her body is really a cardboard yarn cone… I painted her legs on as well as the base she and the Cheshire Cat share. He was done out of yarn and Fun Fur… which in my opinion, is no fun but does look like fur kind of in the end. Both of their heads are stuffed with plastic grocery bags. As for Alice’s arms, she’s very reminiscent of my drawing days. (I have sketch pads filled with beautiful women with wire, beaded, curly arms.) I used an old butterfly charm, a stone heart, and stone donuts to decorate her wire appendages. I love the effect they give.

Alice measures 13 inches (33 cm) tall, and the base she stands on with the cat measures 8 inches (20.3 cm) in diameter.
