notes: ADDICTIVE. don’t need to switch to circular to turn inside out and bind off at head; used I-cord for ears, also last two rows of ears I decreased (ssk) outside two stitches on #1 -- prefer this
tried knitting ears (still I-cord) directly onto body (see BN3 -- orange) -- seems to have worked okay -- have to do a little sewing to get the head to close up without holes, and you have less flexibility with how the ears sit
Picture #1 -- the first two nuggets invade the fruit bowl
Picture #2 -- blue, orange and dk gray keep Cecelia company at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC
BN1 = recycled pink sweater (wool and spandex) sz 1 needles 3/22 - 3/25 (stolen by Quincy 3/27)
BN2 = recycled white sweater dyed blue with food coloring sz 2 needles 3/24 - 3/25
BN3 = recycled pink sweater dyed orange w/ food coloring sz 2 needles -- ears knit on 3/25 - 3/29
BN4 = recycled gray sweater, two of 5 plies from yarn, sz 2 needles 3/27 - 3/30
BN 5-8= recycled white sweater sz 2 needles, currently debating if this one should be garment dyed with koolaid or left white (one left white, one cherry koolaid, one koolaid lemonade, one ????) 3/31 -
BN7 = recyc. pink and 1 ply of 5 from recyc. gray, held together, sz 3 needles
New Take on Nuggets… finger puppets!! pictures to come -- did one bunny (just left the bottom open) -- then what was supposed to be a llama… not so much -- used the white sweater, sz 2 needles, 20 stitches instead of 24, a rounder reduction at the head (K2tog all the way around, knit, K2tog all the way, sew through remaining stitches -- and I added eyelash yarn for the last two rows (after the first decrease round) -- randomly crocheted ears, braided tail (a bit thin) different face… also did a couple rows of garter at the bottom for a little less curl, since it’s staying open -- very cute -- not so llama looking, though! still planning to try and elephant so I can play more with food coloring dying…
and… Cat Toys! (Noro Kuyeron leftovers, sz 3 needles, alternate single rows, three ears and three eyes and cat nip in the stuffing makes for a mutant bunny! (hope Moses likes it as much as Quincy)
