11.8.12
Yarn arrived yesterday. Watched a video for Judy’s magic cast on and got started. Now to stockinette until the right length. (Pattern will produce men’s size 10-12 but the fellas I’m making these socks for wear 13s.)

11.11.12
I was hoping to get a photo up of my progress so far but it looks like I’m going to have to rip what I’ve got and start over. I had my brother try on what I completed so far and he said it was too tight.

11.29.12
Finally have a perfect (yes, perfect---brother tried it on and was super impressed stating it fit like a glove and was SO WARM!) sock almost complete. Just a bit of ribbing rows and binding off (going to learn and attempt Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.) Then to complete it’s mate.

12.11.12
After lots of trial and error and a lot of lessons learned, I completed my very first pair of socks!

Photos soon.

MODS for a men’s size 13:
I cast on 10 stitches on each needle and increased to 20 stitches on each needle.
Just before starting gusset step, foot measured 8” (from tip of toe).
When knitting leg of sock, I threw in some K2tog to decrease to 18 stitches on each needle.
