Started this last night - and am rather amused that the yarn is not quite living up to its name - I found a knot in the first few metres and discarded that bit - and then found another place partway through the third row where the yarn was discontinuous, and I had to rejoin it! Hopefully there won’t be too many more of those.

Since this is a 4-ply yarn and the pattern calls for DK I cast on an extra 30 chain to start with in order to increase the number of pattern repeats by an extra 5. Hopefully this should give a small blanket of around the right size, though obviously size isn’t terribly crucial. Which given my approach to crochet tension is probably just as well :)

It’s a lovely easy pattern though once you’ve got it started, so shouldn’t take too long to complete.

It turns out that you probably need about 150g of yarn to make the blanket the right dimensions. I ran out when the blanket was roughly square, and used some oddments of fairly matching sock yarn in superwash wool to do a half-treble border round all four sides and then a single row of edging on two ends, rather than double edging round all four sides. I’m pretty happy with the results, even though it’s a little off-piste!
