5/20/10: A nice simple diaper cover pattern with no short rows and so many cute options for waistband and leg hole treatments!

I’m not sure if I followed the directions exactly right, however… I may have made the body too deep, as I wasn’t sure if the depth measurement was supposed to include the ribbing or not! (Update--I emailed with the designer and OOPS! I did make it about 1.5” too deep, the measurement WAS supposed to include the ribbing).

I haven’t lanolized it yet to make it waterproof--the instructions I’ve read say to wash with Eucalan, then with a mixture of melted Lansinoh (a pea-sized amount) and Eucalan, then to let it dry.

Baby isn’t born yet, but I doubt this will fit her right away--I made the small instead of the newborn. I might knit a second smaller version after I doublecheck whether I made the body the right depth.

And if I have any trouble with it staying up, I’ll thread some elastic thread through the ribbing--I don’t feel safe using a drawstring on baby clothes.
