Pattern: Using 10 - 13 mm hook, chain 50.
Row 1: Turn and SC across (49 SCs). Use the back (middle) loop of the starting chains.
Row 2: Turn and SC across (49 SCs)
Repeat Row 2 for remaining rows.
Weave in ends or use sewing thread to discretely sew the ends into the rug.

Rows 1-7 purple
8-14: blue
15-21: green
22-28: yellow
29-35: orange
36-42: red

8/14: 4 inches of red left over. Stitched the rough ends to hide them rather than weaving. I think weaving would have come out eventually.

8/3/2012: Beginnng with the purple, the color with the most yardage, because I need the extra length to make the starting chain. The red t-shirts gave less yarn. It looks as though I can get 7 rows from the purple and still have some left over, so I think I’ll have enough.
Note: Blue has 12.25 unused so each section takes about 70 yds. Roughly I have 68 yds of red. May have to make a length of “yarn” from the t shirt scraps.

7/30/2012: Gauge swatch made with a pink t-shirt (size medium). Started with 50 chains making Row 1 49 SCs. Row 1 is all SCs into the back loop of the chain. Without that, the two edges will look different. This way both will look “braided” when viewed from the side. Produces a length of 36 inches. Nearly 3 rows with pink. 3 rows is close to 2 inches. If I can get 7 rows from each color, the rug would be about 32x36.
Using wooden hook from CGOA conference. Need to get the size measured with calipers.

7/27/2012: just bought 12 t-shirts to make tshirt yarn.
Tried to get XL or larger but priority was matching the shade to the color wheel for the 6 colors.
