Oct 30 – swatching

First swatch confirms I love the Fade, and gets me a gauge of 22st to 4” on 4mm. But the swatch doesn’t pass Amy Herzog’s poke test.

Swatching on 3.75mm needles. 5.71 = 1 inch gauge. 22.84 = 4 inch. Swatch STILL doesn’t pass the poke test but I don’t want to reduce the needle size any further.

Matching my gauge to the suggested gauge (across the bust stitches, not including the collar) was rather confusing and not terribly accurate. But, if I figured it out correctly, it results in my knitting a size LARGE for a 37 inch bust.

Nov 3 - Casting on.

Dec 12, 2017: Collar bound off. Need to weave in ends and block. Arms are perfect but I’m hoping the sweater gains a little bit of width and the hem ribbing lays flat. Love the Fade though.

Still need to get modelling shots. And I shouldn’t have added length to the arms. The pattern as written would have been perfect.
