NOTE: I’m not sure why the pattern indicates 2 skeins of white are required. I only used one and still have leftovers. If you need any of the 2nd skein it would likely be very little.
April 10, 2010: CO for this today. The pattern is good and the yarn is lovely and soft. It is cotton however, which hurts my hands terribly. Since this is nice cotton I hoped I wouldn’t have the pain problem, but alas, it is still cotton. I am using the Kollage square DPNs I received in my Itty Bitty Easter Swap package (I also received the yarn in the package) and they help make the knitting more comfortable, except during the K2tog. The tips aren’t as pointy as my Knitpicks needles which makes K2tog a chore (esp. with the tight cotton). The bunny is smaller than I expected. I have started decreasing in the body, so I’ll have to sew up a bean bag and stuff tomorrow.
April 15, 2010: Made up bean bag and stuffed and finished the body of my bunny.
May 3, 2010: Started working on this again. I finished knitting the head tonight. I had previously finished the ears, but wanted to try something different so I ripped out the pink and I’m working on the inner ears now.
May 4, 2010: My bunny has a head with ears! I used turquoise blue for the inner ears (sent to me from Cathcart in the Olive You Itty Bitty Knits Swap). I love how it looks!
May 10, 2010: I finally finished this little guy and it nearly killed me. I’d try to take lots of breaks from knitting with the cotton, but after I while I just wanted him finished. I knit his legs 4 inches rather than 5 as he looked too leggy to me. I made his feet a little smaller too, stopping the knitting to decrease after 10 rows (rather than 15).
Sadly, I don’t think I can ever knit a toy with cotton again!
