quite possibly the cutest and quickest baby gift ever!

the yarn is wonderful. soft. squishy. and the colors are beautifully subtle. this colorway is a gray/green and I think perfect for a baby boy.

the pattern is well-written and easy to follow. the only modifications I made were on the earflaps - I knit 4 rows even before starting the decreases (k2 tog one stitch away from each edge) and I knit 12” icord instead of garter stitch “ribbons”.

I also found one tiny mistake in the section about creating extra stitches for the earflap. The pattern says
Knit 5(6) stitches in ribbing as usual, then twice into each stitch of the next 15(18) stitches. Then 26(30) normal stitches, twice into the next 18, then 5(6) normal. That last “18” should read “15(18)”.

my ball weighed 54 grams before I started. the hat used 26 g and the mitts used 10 g (5 g apiece) = 36 g total, ~ 100 yds
