Knitted a gauge swatch… using stash yarn, two strands of gray knitted together… Perfect.
Cast on to my circular needles… join in the round… struggling… The needles are too long.

Hrm.

According to the gauge, 14 stitches is 4”. Which means the 56 c/o stitches should give a circumference of 16”. The pattern says it for 19”… am I doing something wrong with my maths? 19” should be 67 stitches?

Read through all the comments on Raverly. 99.9% fangirl gushing. One mention of “I didn’t think this would fit but it does.” I’m hoping that the looseness of the knit makes it stretch a bit. My baby has a very big head and I want this hat to fit him. I don’t re-knit.

Oh well, if it’s too small, there’s another baby joining the family soon.

But that’s a very distant second place.
