These were made as part of Tuff Socks Naturally project, using Ryeland fibre from Hallyluyah Farms, spun into 2 yarns, a high grist 2 ply for one sock and an opposing 3 ply for the other. Both socks were spun to a light fingering weight and dyed after knitting with ornamental plum mordanted in alum and modified with washing soda. The purpose is to test which spin is the toughest given the same fibre and same wear.
