Notes

This is my second Cabled Mitt. See my other one here. The first one was made for my step mom (as a birthday gift), and she liked them so much she hinted about her need for a black pair. Christmas was coming up so I thought it would make a good gift for the feast day.

Right now it is nestled under the Christmas tree--I do hope she likes it!

I didn’t have enough black worsted weight yarn on my yarn shelf, so I grabbed the two skeins of Brown Sheep Sport Weight in black. Those two skeins were bought at the first yarn shop I ever visited, so they have fond memories! First wool I ever bought, too. Because it is a sport weight yarn, I doubled the yarn to make it compatible with the pattern’s gauge. Using a size H hook, I was able to match the gauge perfectly.

12/27/10 UPDATE: My step mom was very pleased with her new Cabled Mitts. She will be wearing them for work this week; her office resembles the north pole so they should be getting a lot of use. :D
