Notes

Fringe will be Frank Ochre, and body might be American Beauty. It hopefully won’t be too bright. Leftovers from Lucas’s Pennant Scarf.

7/9: This is going quickly. Did the bobbles in a couple days. One day when I watched hours of TV on my computer. Girls marathon and Cocoon(!). I thought maybe the pink would be too bright for the body. Just decided to go with it, and think it seems pretty fun. I got a little concerned at first about picking up the stitches. It’s so natural for me to pick up in garter ridges off of garter stitch. Instead, I did the usual method of picking up, as if it was stockinette. Like finding the little ladder in between the two edge stitches. Just disregarding the fact that some are purled. 3 in every 4 worked out fine.

Done! Yes, it curls like the Dickens. I guess I knew that going in to it. A fun little project. I was going to pin out every little bobble while blocking, but ended up just lightly pinning the body of the shawl and smoothing out the bobbles. I thought about doing two more rows of garter on the picot edge, but just did the two from the pattern. I used leftovers, so am not sure about yarn usage. Maybe 3/4 of each skein? I think I used a little bit more of the yellow than I did of the pink.
