Notes

First swatch before washing on 7s: 19st x 28 rows, but can easily be smooshed to match the pattern gauge.

Turns out my first swatch was on one 7 and one 8 needle. After washing it was pretty close, maybe a little loose, so I went to a matching pair of 8s. Very stretchy so hard to check gauge precisely. Loving this yarn so far. I soaked a tiny bit of the red yarn in some water and didn’t see any loose dye.

12/6: The back is done!

Made so many mistakes. Accidentally made a size small for the back. I didn’t rip back, but I needed to modify the rate of decreases at the bottom so I had the same amount of rows on front and back. I also ended up picking up 4 extra stitches on the sleeve caps. I decreased every 10th row until the cuff. There is a little bit of extra fabric around the armpit but I don’t know if that’s due to the style or the additional stitches.

I wish that I had not slipped the edge stitches. Considering that you need to pick up 2/3 stitches, you are forced to pick up in another half a stitch from the edge because you can’t cleanly pick up multiple stitches into a slip stitch.

This is my garment project for the Giftalong Opadoo.
